Re-thinking Early Childhood Education and Care

Join us for a zoom gathering on Tuesday 15 September at 8pm with guest speaker: Jay Weatherill, CEO of the Minderoo Foundation’s ‘Thrive By Five’ initiative and the former Premier of South Australia.

Jay Weatherill champions the need for a national strategy to create a culture that prioritises children, especially in their early years of development. He has written about the need for universal, free early childhood education and care.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and reflect on how we can strengthen our own local children’s services.

A panel of locals will also contribute their thoughts on this important issue.

  • Isabelle Oderberg, local parent of two young children and member of Save Childcare in Port Phillip (SCIPP)
  • Martin Foley State MP for Albert Park on rolling out free three year-old kinder in Victoria
  • Sam Hibbins, State MP for Prahran and Greens spokesperson for education
  • Linda Davison, Chair of Community Childcare and Centre Co-ordinator, Clarendon Children’s Centre

Everyone is welcome, especially parents of young children and early childhood educators.
