Join a conversation with your local councillors.
Organised by – and for – local residents.
Our Council has recently released its Draft Council Plan and Budget 2021-2031 (for details and documents, click here). Community feedback is invited up until 23 May 2021.
Progressive Port Phillip has invited the councillors in each of our three wards to engage with their local constituents about the Draft Plan. And we invite you to come along to talk with the councillors about your ideas and priorities for our city and learn more about the Plan.
This is the RSVP Page for:
Sunday 16 May from 3.30-5.00pm at Liardet Community Centre, Cnr Liardet and Nott Streets, Port Melbourne.
Facilitated by Gateway Ward resident Trish Avery.
If you are unclear about the ward you live in, click here.
You do not HAVE TO attend the meeting for your ward - you can come to any and all events. Many issues span all wards, many ward specific issues affect your life nearby.
Councillors will speak about the key issues and priorities in the Draft Plan and Budget as they see them, and also highlight areas they would most like community feedback about. Then there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. At least one ward councillor is attending each meeting.
These conversations are open to everyone. But please RSVP for the meeting you wish to attend – due to COVID-restrictions at venues we may have to restrict numbers.
Council is conducting pop-up conversations on the Draft Plan in different neighbourhoods (for details see here), and you may also like to attend one of these. These are individual conversations with officers or councillors however, and provide little opportunity to share our views with each other, or to hear councillor responses to all the issues raised.
Progressive Port Phillip has been calling for quarterly ward meetings with our Councillors for some time now. In future we hope regular meetings will be organised by Council as part of implementing its recently adopted Community Engagement Policy.
Until then, do come along to one of our community-organised meetings.
